Weight Loss and Water Content

The relationship between water content and body weight is clinically important because changes in body

weight can be used to estimate changes in body water content. For example, in the absence of other explanations, a sudden weight loss of 3 kg results in a loss of 3 kg (≈3 L) of total body water.
